Rockets forward's mom seemingly throws shade at Jared McCain, hyping Jalen Green's "nail polish" game

Tari Eason's mother Teroya Eason made a post on X on Wednesday praising Rocket's star Jalen Green for his "nail polish game" and seemingly throwing shade at Jared McCain. Teroya uploaded a picture of the Rocket's forward, showing off his new nail art.

She accompanied a caption with the post, praising Green in front of her 9.9K followers.

"Let’s be clear WE run the nail Polish game!"

Jalen Green's nail art featured a unique design on his index and middle fingers. The Index finger bore the number 4, representing Green's jersey number, while the middle finger had a face with cross-shaped eyes and a smile on a black background.

Teroya's caption, claiming to "run nail polish game," appeared to be a subtle jab at the Philadelphia 76ers rookie Jared McCain, who is known for his colorful nails during games. The former Duke player used to paint his nails in blue and white, reflecting his college team's colors.

McCain is also quite famous on TikTok, he has 4.2 million followers on the platform. He actively posts trendy videos on the platform, which also include videos of him doing his nail art on camera.

Jared McCain reveals the reason behind him painting his nails

The Sixers rookie Jared McCain is one of the hottest topics in the NBA right now. The former Duke star is averaging 16.5 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game and is a front-runner for the Rookie of the Year award with Lakers' rook Dalton Knecht behind him.

McCain has a habit of painting his nails before games and earlier in March, the rookie explained the reason behind it in a minute-long TikTok video.

"There’s really no crazy reason to it,” McCain said. “It helps me not bite my nails."

Later in the video, the Sixers rookie revealed another reason behind his love for nail polish.

"One of the reasons I kept painting my nails is I had a game after I painted my nails and I ended up playing really well,” McCain said. “You know, I’m not crazy superstitious but if I thought it looked nice and I thought it helped me play better? And so far, it’s worked."

In the video, Jared McCain also announced his partnership with the nail polish brand, Sally Hansen, who signed the Sixers rookie through a NIL deal before his NBA debut.
