"The name. I wanted to be able to create something that inspires people, gives people confidence. I am a huge man of faith and I believe that we all have gifts and we should honor whatever gift that we have or God has given us," Westbrook said. "That is strickly how I came up with the name."

After three-years in Southern California that included stints with the LA Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers, Russell Westbrook decided it was time for a change of scenery. The former MVP inked a two-year, 6.8 million deal this offseason with the Denver Nuggets.

Westbrook was not able to achieve his ultimate goal of winning a championship with the Clippers, but has fond memories of his time with the franchise. The veteran shared a heartfelt message with the fanbase last month after finalizing his move.

"Clipper Nation, thank you! I had a lot of fun with you all, playing in the city that I love in front of my family and friends," Westbrook said.
"To all of my fans! You guys don't know how much your support means to me. Y'all keep me motivated and energized. I've got the most loyal and amazing fans in sports. Looking forward to seeing y'all next season!"

The Nuggets won their first championship in 2023 and with star talent such as Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray on the roster. They will be looking to add another title in 2025. The addition of two-time scoring champion Russell Westbrook should make them one of the favorites for the title going into the upcoming season.
