"S/O the Brodie" - LeBron James shouts out Russell Westbrook as former Lakers teammates gets featured on NFL fan cam

LeBron James and Russell Westbrook, former LA Lakers teammates, were at SoFi stadium on Sunday to watch the LA Rams host the San Francisco 49ers. Rams-49ers encounters are usually highly sought-after, so it wasn’t surprising to see the two NBA superstars attend the game.

During the game, the NFL fan cam spotted the two inside the arena. James, featured first, gestured his “crown me” trademark. Westbrook was with his twin daughters Jordyn and Skye somewhere in the stands.

LeBron James shared the video on Instagram and wrote a message for Russell Westbrook:

“Helluva game and great game guys!!!
“S/O the Brodie!”

James and Westbrook’s partnership with the LA Lakers did not last very long. He arrived in the summer of 2021 with massive hype and expectations. The Lakers, however, failed to make the playoffs in Westbrook’s first season with the team. Trading “King James” was a non-option for the team so the “Brodie” was sent packing in February 2023.

Russell Westbrook was traded to the Utah Jazz on Feb. 9, roughly a week before the LA Rams won Super Bowl LVI. When Aaron Donald and Co. visited the Lakers, LeBron James and Anthony Davis greeted the champs. Westbrook’s future was uncertain during that time as he reportedly wanted a buyout with the Jazz.

Despite what happened, basketball fans will be happy to see James’ gesture of giving a shout-out to his former teammate.

LeBron James captured sipping drink during Rams' come-from-behind win over 49ers

LeBron James was featured on the LA Rams’ fan cam a handful of times. As perhaps the NBA’s biggest and most accomplished superstar, the attention wasn’t unsurprising. The fans at SoFi Stadium applauded him when he was shown on the big screen.

In one of those instances, the four-time MVP was spotted having a drink while sitting in one of the arena’s suites. He also stood up to interact with some of the people behind him.

The drink LeBron James had must have tasted better in the LA Rams’ heart-stopping come-from-behind 27-24 win. Los Angeles trailed 14-0 after the first quarter before battling back to grab the victory. Until Sunday, San Francisco had not lost a game when leading by 14 points since 2018.

At the halfway point of the fourth quarter, the 49ers were still up 24-14 behind the incredible plays of Jauan Jennings and Brock Purdy. Los Angeles' defense held up while the offense got going.

Home fans likely including James rocked the stadium after San Francisco’s final drive ended. The previously 0-2 Rams finally barged into the win column.
