Sam Mitchell clears air on leaking Chris Miles' address during live show after being called 'snitch' by co-host

Former NBA player Sam Mitchell spent nearly 20 years as an assistant coach and head coach. This week, Mitchell was involved in a head-scratching spat with NBA TV co-host Chris Miles. Mitchell questioned why coaches like Steve Kerr don't get Olympic medals, prompting Miles to make a joke.

While on air, Miles joked that coaches like Mitchell should consider appearing on NBA TV for free. Mitchell was unamused and was quick to take aim at his co-host.

In an exchange that caught the attention of fans around the league, Mitchell threatened to and eventually revealed the address of a house Miles and his wife own. Miles called Mitchell a "snitch" for doing that.

The situation left many fans wondering whether or not there would be repercussions for the exchange. However, there seem to be no hard feelings between the two. On Saturday, a post on Instagram showed Miles pulling up to Mitchell's house, revealing that they're neighbors:

After surprising Mitchell at his house, Miles explained:

"I'm trying to tell people that we're neighbors and friends, and you're basically telling people like, 'Hey, my man is doing all right in life.'"

Mitchell then explained his side of the viral exchange:

"Last night, it was a backhanded compliment. Everybody think that person sitting to our right is broken, destitute. What I basically was saying is. And the reason the house was on my mind."
"Remember, I had just asked you about the house? We was talking about me and my wife renting the house for the holidays or something, and I asked you for the website so I can go on and book it."

NBA vet Matt Barnes pushes back, refuting claims that Sam Mitchell and Chris Miles were joking

Following Friday's awkward on-air exchange between Sam Mitchell and Chris Miles, many fans flocked to social media for details regarding what transpired after the cameras cut.

NBA TV contributor and Sirius XM host Brian Geltzeiler weighed in on the situation on X, formerly known as Twitter.

He posted on Saturday morning that Mitchell and Miles were joking during the exchange and were later seen hanging out in the green room laughing about something else.

He also explained that given that the two are friends, Mitchell made up an address for Miles' alleged rental property rather than doxing his co-host on air.

However, NBA vet Matt Barnes feels the exchange was real, and the two made up after to save their jobs. The All The Smoke host posted:

"No one ain’t tryin to hear that shit. Shut up! Sam was heated lol there was [no] joke in Sam’s voice or tone … you look stupid w this bullshit you just said."

When one fan pushed back, Barnes clarified that he believed Mitchell was trying to save face by brushing things off afterward.

So far no word yet on whether either NBA TV host will face repercussions for the exchange.
