Sauce Gardner chimes in on Jaylen Brown's viral interaction with Kysre Gondrezick, Angel Reese: "Saying this to females is nasty work"

Jaylen Brown has remained in the headlines even after the Boston Celtics' title run. The All-Star guard took home the Eastern Conference and NBA Finals MVP awards. A few weeks later, he also won the “Best Championship Performance” in the ESPYs.

Brown was in Las Vegas on Monday to watch the Celtics’ Summer League game against the LA Lakers. “JB” went to the arena with his girlfriend Kysre Gondrezick and Chicago Sky star Angel Reese. During the game, Brown was spotted telling his companions that LA guard Bronny James didn’t belong in the big league.

New York Jets star Sauce Gardner commented about the viral clip in a post on X, formerly Twitter, that has since been deleted:

“Saying this to females is nasty work.”

What Gardner meant by his comment isn't very clear. It didn't help that it was quickly removed.

Gondrezick, Reese’s former Sky teammate, also shared her opinion about LeBron James’ son:

“I think he’ll be on the G-League team for sure.”

Jaylen Brown disagreed:

“I don’t think so. I think because of his name, he’ll be on the Lakers.”

Brown isn’t likely the only NBA player who thinks Bronny James isn’t ready to be a pro yet. The Celtics star was just caught on video telling his girlfriend what he thought of the former Trojan. It’s hard to find fault in Brown’s opinion after watching James Jr. struggle again in the Summer League.

The heavily scrutinized LA Lakers rookie finished with two points on 1-for-5 shooting, including 0-for-3 from deep. Two of his misses from behind the arc were air balls. He is now 0-for-15 from that distance in his Summer League games. Brown simply called it as he saw it.

Jaylen Brown responds after his Bronny James comments went viral

Jaylen Brown must have been aware of the social media storm he caused following his comments about Bronny James. He clarified what he said to Kysre Gondrezick with a post on X, formerly Twitter:

“It’s a flex to have your son alongside you in the NBA it reflects greatness and longevity !Bronny has all the tools around him to be successful I look forward to watching his growth”

Brown didn’t take back what he said about James Jr. He remains convinced the rookie isn’t ready to play in the NBA yet. But, the Celtics star conceded that LeBron James’ son has the “tools around him to be successful.”

The Boston Celtics and the LA Lakers will meet twice next season. Both of those matchups will be even highly anticipated following the Cs’ championship run. A subheading in those games will be Jaylen Brown’s comments about Bronny James. The Jameses might have something to say about that when they meet on the court.
