How did Scotty Pippen Jr. perform against the LA Lakers?

Scotty Pippen Jr. was a starter for the third straight game and had a big first quarter for the visiting Memphis Grizzlies. He had nine points in the first 12 minutes, keeping Memphis afloat as the Lakers were trying to pull away.

The Vanderbilt product added just two points in the second period, but the Grizzlies kept on fighting. The Lakers built a 14-point lead early in the quarter before a daunted run by Memphis to end the half put them just behind by a point, 65-64, after 24 minutes.

In the third quarter, the Grizzlies took advantage of Anthony Davis' foul trouble to get a nine-point lead against the Lakers. LeBron James did his best to get his team back in the game, while Pippen Jr. barely made an impact.

The Chicago Bulls legend's son was aggressive in the fourth quarter and was consistently creating his shots. The problem was he wasn't converting when it mattered the most. He only scored four points in the fourth quarter as the Lakers held on for the victory.

Scotty Pippen Jr. had the right mindset playing against the LA Lakers. He was aggressive early and at the end, but tapered off in the second and third quarters. He played well in the Memphis Grizzlies 131-114 win over the Lakers at the FedEx Forum on Nov. 6.

Pippen had 14 points, six rebounds and four assists off the bench. He always wanted to play better against the Lakers since he was cut from their roster a year ago. He wanted to prove that it was a mistake and did it in their first matchup.

The point guard has one more shot versus his former team on March 29, 2025. It will be held in Memphis, so he'll have the crowd cheering for him and the Grizzlies.
