"Seeing all these BBL Drizzy Halloween costumes": Michael Jordan's son Marcus Jordan fires playful jab at Drake with unexpected request
NBA great Michael Jordan's son, Marcus Jordan, threw subtle, playful shade toward Drake in a tweet on Thursday. With Halloween on the horizon, everyone expects a fresh crop of unique costumes. The six-time NBA champion’s son seems to have something up his sleeve, and he surely knows a thing or two about what will turn heads.
The Canadian rapper and American rapper Kendrick Lamar are two of the biggest names in hip-hop. They both have been locked in a heated rivalry for years and even more so after releasing diss tracks aimed at each other. Fans of either artist are well aware of this ongoing rivalry and often find themselves caught in the middle of the debate.
Now, Marcus Jordan may have shared a subtle jab at Drake by posting an interesting request to his 74k followers on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“I’m seeing all these BBL Drizzy Halloween costumes. Can we get a Kung-Fu Kenny too?? 👊🥷 ✨ Asking for a friend🤷♂️,” the tweet read.
He could’ve used his name “Drake” instead of “BBL Drizzy,” which alludes to the viral rumor that the rapper underwent a Brazilian butt lift. Not only that, but he also followed it up with, "Can we get a Kung-Fu Kenny too?" a nickname referencing his rival, Pulitzer Prize winner Kendrick Lamar.
This isn't the first time Marcus Jordan fired playful jab at Drake
Yes, you read that right. In 2018, rumors circulated that Drake was considering leaving Jordan Brand for Adidas. Multiple sources at the time reported that the rapper was in discussions with the three-stripe company, even though he had been with Jordan since 2013.
In 2018, during the Toronto Raptors' playoff loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers, Drake was spotted looking dejected courtside. This sparked memes and online jokes, as the Raptors had fallen 0-2 in the series.
This caught the attention of Michael Jordan's son, who playfully mocked these rumors on Twitter.
"And you’re now stuck in Adidas Kicks... FOREVER *Cardi B voice*🤭🙊," he tweeted.
He followed up with another post, writing:
“Btw, nothing confirmed on The Boy... just let me be 'PettyMJ' for a second.”
Despite all that, Marcus appears to be a big fan of Drizzy’s music. He often uses his songs on Instagram stories to express his admiration for the artist. He was once also spotted dancing solo to the rapper’s hit song "Energy” while on vacation in the Bahamas earlier this year.
