Shannon Sharpe after Steph Curry's injury brings out legit concerns for Golden State Warriors: "You just hope that it's nothing serious”
Steph Curry's injury has put the Golden State Warriors on red alert. While attempting to bounce back on Wednesday night against the Indiana Pacers, Golden State lost the game and its star.
Curry suffered what appears to be a shoulder injury during the second half. He missed the remainder of the 125-119 loss and is set to undergo an MRI.
It's a huge development. Curry has kept the struggling Warriors (14-15) afloat with his outstanding play this season. Despite only playing 30 minutes, Curry finished with 39 points on 11-of-19 shooting.
On "Skip and Shannon: Undisputed," analyst Shannon Sharpe stressed caution when it comes to Curry's injury.
"You just hope that it's nothing serious, because Steph is having a historic season," Sharpe said. "They're struggling to win on the road with him. I don't know how they're going to win without him."
Steph Curry's Injury could raise danger for Golden State Warriors
The basketball world awaits the status of Steph Curry's injury. The superstar guard has been having another outstanding season. He's averaging 30.0 points, 6.6 reboundsand 6.8 assists per game while shooting 50.0%, including 43.4% from 3-point range.
Golden State has been inconsistent this year: 12-2 at home and 2-13 on the road. The defending NBA champion has won just one of its last five games. That lone victory was an eye-opening performance against the Boston Celtics, winning the NBA Finals rematch 123-107 on Saturday.
Things won't get any easier for the Golden State Warriors. The team is in the middle of a six-game road trip and is coming off two consecutive losses. Golden State is set to take on the Philadelphia 76ers (15-12) on Friday night. From there, the team will face the Toronto Raptors (13-15) on Sunday and the New York Knicks (15-13) next Tuesday.
The 76ers have won three in a row and 10 of their last 15 games. The Raptors have lost three in a row and six of their last eight. The Knicks are on a five-game winning streak.
Steph Curry's injury will stress caution for Golden State, which is currently 10th in the Western Conference. If he's sidelined for an extended period of time, the Warriors will need to dig deep to right the ship. That could mean extended minutes for players such as Jordan Poole and Klay Thompson.
