Shaquille O'Neal keeps differences with JaVale McGee aside and shares Olympic gold medalist's one-of-one feat

Shaquille O'Neal put aside his differences with JaVale McGee to share the veteran Sacramento King's unique feat in the Olympics. The 4x NBA champion took to his Instagram stories to share a picture of McGee and his mother, Pamela — both of whom are Olympic gold medalists; the first mother-son duo to clinch gold at the marquee event.

O'Neal, who had a back-and-forth X tirade with JaVale, shared a post from All the Smoke featuring the McGees' distinction.

It all started when O'Neal poked fun at McGee during his Golden State Warriors days for a few plays on the floor. Their beef spilled onto social media where the banter turned into an all-out tweet war.

"@SHAQ get my 🥜's out of your mouth! And EAD! #thatisall," McGee tweeted.
@JaValeMcGee34 don't be acting like u a g I'll smack the s**t out yo bum ass u da one that be looking stupid with your dumb ass #bumass," Shaq said.

It finally took the mothers of both NBA stars to end the fight. Lucille O'Neal and Pamela stepped in, and O'Neal promised not to talk about the 3x NBA champion again. By the looks of it, the big may have finally ended the matter.

"Might have orders from the top to leave it alone": Shaquille O'Neal on not talking about JaVale McGee again

Soon after both mothers took charge of the ongoing feud, Shaquille O'Neal explained why he wouldn't mention JaVale McGee on “Shaqtin’ A Fool” again. Speaking on 'The Undefeated,' he said it wasn't NBA commissioner Adam Silver but his mother, Lucille, who quashed the feud.

“I have orders from the top to leave it alone. My mama. Just say Shaq’s mom called him, told him, ‘Stop this silliness. Leave him alone.’ So that’s the end of the beef. You won’t be hearing about it from my side anymore. Mama has spoken.”

Such was the heightened tensions that the Warriors reportedly reached out to TNT with concerns. But things have changed since, and McGee is now with the Kings and hoping for a productive 2024-25 season.
