"She was born with the name": Dennis Rodman's ex-wife Michelle Rodman pulls no punches against question over keeping NBA legend's last name
Dennis Rodman’s ex-wife, Michelle, has taken a firm stance amid the drama surrounding their daughter, Trinity Rodman, and the former Chicago Bulls star. In the comment section of a post about Trinity's interview on "Call Her Daddy" by their Instagram page, Michelle did not hold back in responding to questions about why Trinity still uses Dennis' last name.
An Instagram user questioned Trinity's use of the Rodman name in a scathing comment thread and Michelle gave a firm response.
"But she KEPT that last name...(just saying)," the user said.
"She was born with the name! Curious? What name would you suggest she have," Michelle responded.
"She is is TRINITY RODMAN," Michelle added.
Aside from Trinity, Michelle also has another child with the four-time NBA champion, namely son Dennis “DJ” Rodman.
On Wednesday, Trinity expressed her frustrations about her father in an interview with “Call Her Daddy” host Alex Cooper. Trinity called her father “alcoholic” and talked about the problematic relationship between the two throughout her childhood.
“He's not a dad. Maybe by blood, but nothing else. We tried to live with him. But he's having parties 24/7, bringing random b****es in,” she said.
In contrast, Michelle has remained a steadfast supporter of Trinity's success while publicly defending her against criticism and questions surrounding her relationship with her father.
Dennis Rodman writes an apology letter for Trinity on social media
Following Trinity’s interview, Dennis Rodman turned to Instagram to write an apology letter for his daughter. Rodman wrote how he tries to be a part of Trinity’s life while wishing that his kids will again acknowledge their dad.
“Sorry I wasn’t the Dad you wanted me to be but either way I still tried and I still Try and Never will Stop…I will keep trying even when you’re being told as an adult not to respond to my phone calls...I’m always here And tell you all the time rather it’s your voice or voicemail how proud I am,” the NBA legend captioned in his IG post.
"I always had one wish and it was I wish my kids would call me and come see me. Hopefully one day I can get that. I’m here and I’m still trying pick up the phone you have my number, You see me calling, I’m still here Dennis RODMAN- Dad.”
Michelle Rodman raised all her children by herself. According to a report by the Los Angeles Times, she distanced both Trinity and DJ from their father for quite a while.
Trinity has since responded to Rodman’s post, rejecting the basketball player’s apology.
