Skip Bayless continues tirade vs LeBron James as 4xNBA champion closes in on Michael Jordan's record

Skip Bayless took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to remind people that he prefers Michael Jordan over LeBron James. "The King" dropped 32 points, seven rebounds and six assists in the LA Lakers' 103-99 win over the Sacramento Kings on Saturday night.

It was James' 560th 30-point game, needing just three to pass "His Airness" for most all time. James' scoring is down this season, but he will have these scoring bursts at times, so he's likely breaking the record soon.

However, the veteran analyst isn't letting anyone forget that Jordan gained the record in fewer games and minutes played. Bayless is a huge fan of Jordan, a Chicago Bulls legend, and one of the biggest critics of LA Lakers superstar James.

"LeBron is now just two back of Michael Jordan for 30-point games, 562-560. YET LEBRON HAS NOW PLAYED 16,500 MORE MINUTES THAN MJ DID - AND COUNTING!" Bayless tweeted.

LeBron James is still doing great things despite being the oldest player in the NBA. James is set to turn 40 on Dec. 30, which is a testament to how durable the four-time NBA champion is. He also does everything he can to ensure his body remains in top shape.

The signs of aging have started this season, but James remains one of the best players in the league. He has got nothing left to prove, but when people like Skip Bayless continue to create a narrative, it likely fuels the LA Lakers superstar to continue.

Nevertheless, whatever James accomplishes or any record he breaks is just icing on the cake. He's already one of the greatest ever and has a legitimate claim to being called the GOAT. It's all about perspective and a raging debate that will possibly go on forever.

One of the biggest talking points of the NBA season is its continued decline in ratings. Some are blaming the style of play and the number of 3-point shots taken every game, while others want to see better defense and players suit up when not injured.

Speaking to reporters after Thursday's win over the Sacramento Kings, LeBron James was asked about the newest format of the 2024 NBA All-Star Game. He acknowledges the decline in ratings, explaining why it's happening.

"Listen, it's a bigger conversation," James said, according to Fox News. "It's not just the All-Star Game, it's our game in general. Our game, there's a lot of f***ing threes being shot. So it's a bigger conversation than just the All-Star Game."

The NBA hasn't directly addressed the issue, but it could come up sooner or later. James is still the face of the league, but age 40, the NBA needs to have a heir who would carry them into the next generation.
