Skip Bayless pens congratulatory note for LeBron James after 39-year-old superstar records 3rd consecutive triple-double
Skip Bayless extended congratulations to LeBron James after the 39-year-old superstar added yet another milestone to his remarkable career on Wednesday. LeBron became the oldest player to record a triple-double in three consecutive games during the Lakers’ 128-123 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
Previously, the record for the oldest player with three consecutive triple-doubles also belonged to LeBron, who achieved it at 34 years and 310 days old during the 2019 season with the Lakers.
In this latest game, LeBron led his team to victory with an outstanding all-around performance, filling up the stat sheet with 35 points, 12 rebounds, 14 assists and one steal in 36:56 minutes. He shot 13 of 22 from the field, including 4 of 7 from beyond the arc, and made five of eight free throws.
Known as one of LeBron's biggest critics, Skip Bayless acknowledged the Lakers star’s heroic effort and shared a congratulatory message for the "King" on his latest achievement.
"Congrats to LeBron James for a 3rd straight triple double at nearly 40 years of age," Skip tweeted.
Interestingly, Skip's congratulatory message to LeBron came just an hour after the veteran analyst had taken another jab at the four-time NBA Finals MVP, questioning his clutch gene.
"That LeBron “pressure” commercial always makes me chuckle," Skip said. "Anybody remember his 4th quarters of Games 1, 2, 3 and 4 vs Denver 2 years ago and the 4th quarters of Games 1 and 2 vs Denver last year???"
