Snoop Dogg goes OFF on Anthony Davis and LA Lakers in wild rant on Instagram
Rapper Snoop Dogg, a hardcore LA Lakers fan, went off on Anthony Davis for his injury struggles on Instagram. Snoop said he was tired of Davis missing game time due to injuries.
Davis was in the form of his life this season before he went down with a foot injury in December. It's been a recurring theme for the former New Orleans Pelicans big since the 2020-21 season.
Lake Show CP recently posted a screenshot of a tweet that said LeBron James and AD are the best duo in the league. However, Snoop Dogg questioned the remarks in the post, saying:
"How? When we never play together for 2 weeks healthy I’m losing faith AD. Need to get his body tight like LeBron I’m tired of seeing him on bench in street clothes. Yeah I said it what are we doing ???"
Anthony Davis' injury struggles have contributed greatly to the LA Lakers' failure to win a single playoff series since their championship win in 2020. It's been suggested that the Lakers move AD, as his injuries have had a massive impact on the team's failures.
The LA Lakers were 12-16 this year when AD went down with an injury. They are 19-23 at the moment, and the team has struggled on defense. If Davis had been available, the Lakers could've had a better record.
LA Lakers have slipped 12 places in defensive rating since Anthony Davis' injury
The numbers prove that Anthony Davis' absence has cost the LA Lakers dearly. The Lakers have figured out how to run their offense in his absence. But they have been miserable on the other end of the floor. LA were 12th in defensive rating before AD's injury (December 16). Since then, they have slipped 12 places to rank 24th.
Thomas Bryant and Wenyen Gabriel have emerged as reliable backup bigs, but they don't compare to AD. Davis' size helps him protect the rim better. His defensive IQ is also better than anyone else on the roster.
Davis has averaged 2.1 blocks per contest this season. The next best player in that category is Patrick Beverley, who blocks 0.6 shots per game. The Lakers seem to have figured out a lot of their woes, but interior defense in AD's absence and 3-point shooting continues to be a problem for LA.
