Jalen Brunson weighs in on Knicks' season
The New York Knicks face a promising offseason despite a heartbreaking seven-game Eastern Conference semifinals loss to the Indiana Pacers. However, their star isn't content with moral victories.
Following the Game 7 defeat, Brunson made it clear that for him, the season wasn't a success.
"Did we win the championship? Did we get close? That's my mindset, this is how it is," Brunson said.
Obsessed with growth, Brunson laid out his offseason plans.
“I think the most important thing that I need to do is to continue to strive for perfection, strive for perfection,” he added. “Knowing that I’m never gonna get there, My mindset is I need to be better every single day. I don’t care what I’ve done as a player. It means nothing and I’m going to go into the summer training to be better and I’ll come back ready next year.”
The 27-year-old made a major leap toward superstardom this season as he averaged 28.7 points, which rose to 32.4 points in the playoffs. And if he continues with his mindset of striving for perfection, he might just get even better.
