"Someone’s getting fired" - NBA Twitter loses it as Spurs fan leaks Mavericks' scouting info

A weird incident took place ahead of tonight's season opener between the San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Mavericks. A Spurs fan, who claimed they were in the same hotel as the Mavs in San Antonio, leaked Dallas' scouting report for Wednesday's game.

The fan posted images of the scouting reports, which include each player's stats and the way they play on both ends.

The tweet quickly went viral, with NBA fans reacting to it. Some shared their surprise at the incident, while others doubted whether this was an actual scouting report.

"Someone’s getting fired!! Lol," a user wrote.
"This is hilarious omg," another one posted.
"Elephant" is crazy disrespectful," a fan wrote.
"Yea that is not an actual scouting report, you all trying so hard," another user said.
"Scouting report for Wemby- Map directions to San Fernando Cathedral," a fan posted.
"Obviously fake. The person that made these ESPN box score printouts would have done the little one finger boop trick to get the paper to fly under the door while going an unknownable distance and direction in the room," wrote '@OUSnapper.'
"Not much info fr this is all common stuff if you watch ball. This won’t impact the game whatsoever," one comment read.
"Dawg how does this happen," another fan commented.

Victor Wembanyama set for NBA debut with Spurs vs. Luka Doncic and the Mavericks

The season opener between the San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Mavericks will see the first battle between Luka Doncic and Victor Wembanyama.

The Slovenian superstar had high praise for the French big man and what he can do on the floor, with Wembanyama being a generational talent and the next big thing in the league.

"It's pretty crazy what he does on the court," Luka Doncic said about Wembanyama, via Sports Illustrated. "What's he -- 2 meters [tall]? Oh, 7-4? No, the things he does for that length, it's unbelievable the way he moves, the way he handles the ball, shoots the ball, and obviously the blocking. So, I've been watching, and he's an amazing player."

For his part, Victor Wembanyama is preparing for his official Spurs debut and admitted he is a little anxious about it.

"This one feels unreal even more," the No.1 pick of the 2023 NBA draft told media, via ESPN. "I thought maybe a month ago that some preseason games would prepare me for that moment, and it would be just another game. But it feels totally different. The fact it's an actual NBA regular-season game. It's different."

The game between the Mavs and Spurs takes place at Frost Bank Center in San Antonio and will tip off at 9.30 p.m. ET. The game will be available for fans to watch via NBA League Pass and ESPN.
