SPOTTED: Rapper 2 Chainz turns heads courtside in custom Atlanta jacket for Bucks vs Hawks NBA Cup game
Prominent rapper 2 Chainz was in attendance to support the Atlanta Hawks in the semi-finals of the NBA Cup game against the Milwaukee Bucks. The rapper is an Atlanta native, given he grew up in Georgia. With that in mind, it's understandable why he'd go the extra mile to support the Hawks.
On Saturday, 2 Chainz was spotted courtside wearing a custom Atlanta Hawks jacket. The jacket's design featured a silhouette of the city of Atlanta while donning the team's colors.
Unfortunately for the rapper, Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks were the hungrier team as they came up with a huge victory. Trae Young did what he could to match Antetokounmpo's double-double performance with a double-double of his own. Sadly, they came up a bit short with a 110-102 finish.
Atlanta can now use this time to rest as the NBA Cup continues. Their next opponent will be the San Antonio Spurs when the cup concludes. They will face the Spurs on December 19, 2024.
Hawks vs. Bucks recap: Trae Young's double-double not enough to beat Milwaukee
The Atlanta Hawks took on the Milwaukee Bucks in the semifinals of the NBA Cup. Trae Young did what he could to send Atlanta to the finals. However, Giannis Antetokounmpo and his Bucks prevailed as they came up with a 110-102 victory. It was a competitive game throughout the night, with neither team giving up.
Young put up a remarkable double-double performance against Milwaukee. He added 35 points, 10 assists, seven rebounds and one block. Trae also shot efficiently from the field with 60% accuracy from beyond the arc and 50% overall. While he was able to keep up with Antetokounmpo's double-double performance, none of the other Atlanta players could efficiently support the star guard.
Giannis Antetokounmpo carried Milwaukee to victory with 32 points, 14 rebounds, nine assists, four blocks and one steal. Fortunately for Giannis, he had Damian Lillard by his side to match his output. Lillard added 25 points, seven assists, six rebounds and three steals. Their duo overwhelmed Atlanta, which is why they ultimately came out on top on Saturday.
The Milwaukee Bucks will now wait for whoever the winner of the matchup between the OKC Thunder and Houston Rockets will be. The victor will face the Bucks in the NBA Cup finals. As for the other NBA teams, including Atlanta, they all have a short break to use to either recover or put in more work before the regular season resumes.
