Spurs fans demand big trades after Victor Wembanyama's extraterrestrial effort - "Jimmy Wemby Castle I'm moved"

Victor Wembanyama put on a dominant performance in the San Antonio Spurs’ 114-94 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday. The Alien finished with 30 points, 10 blocks, seven rebounds and three assists. Wemby went 8-for-16, including 4-for-8 from deep, and made 10-for-11 free-throw attempts.

The win improved the Spurs’ record to 15-13 for 10th place in the tightly-contested Western Conference. Fans tossed in their thoughts about how San Antonio could become better playoff contenders:

“Jimmy Wemby castle I’m moved. ”

@NewMediaSports_ continued:

“Jimmy a be good”

@ReverseDVD said:

“Valanciunas has some Spursy vibes to him and he can be a solid backup big.”

@RealPhilyCheese added:

“I really really REALLY like the butler fit”

One fan commented:

“Give me valenciunas and fox and I’ll be an extremely happy fan”

NBA insiders predicted the San Antonio Spurs to challenge for at least a play-in spot in Victor Wembanyama’s second season. The addition of veterans Chris Paul and Harrison Barnes only reinforced that conviction. But, if Wemby continues to put up mind-boggling numbers, fans believe the Spurs can challenge for a guaranteed playoff spot if they acquire a star.

Jimmy Butler is one of the hottest names on the trade market. The Miami Heat star named two Texas-based teams, the Dallas Mavericks and the Houston Rockets, two of his preferred destinations. If the Spurs want to, they can join the bidding and try to pair Jimmy Buckets with Wemby in San Antonio.

San Antonio Spurs reportedly interested in trading for Jimmy Butler to help Victor Wembanyama

The San Antonio Spurs, a team with multiple first-round picks in the next five years, could try to upgrade their roster before the trade deadline.

NBA insider Brett Siegel reported:

“Three other teams quietly mentioned in league circles are the San Antonio Spurs, OKC Thunder and Los Angeles Lakers. Butler would be another great veteran leader for the Spurs to add next to Victor Wembanyama.”

Chris Paul and Harrison Barnes, on team-friendly contracts, boosted the supporting cast around Victor Wembanyama. Adding Jimmy Butler will be a major coup if the Spurs go that way.

However, the veteran forward is expected to ask for another long-term max contract, which San Antonio might not be willing to give. Fans are demanding a trade, but only time will tell if the Spurs will attempt to pair Butler with Wembanyama.
