Steph Curry admits feeling Olympics pressure, equates NBA championships to debut medal

This summer, Steph Curry added another accolade to his already historic resumé by winning a gold medal at the Olympics. While appearing on the "Today" show, Curry was asked about the feeling of winning a gold medal in the Olympics.

Reflecting on the experience, he cited that it was among some of his biggest achievements in the NBA.

"Basketball wise, obviously the championships are special," Curry said. "The memories I have there, but this is right up there."

Curry also touched on the pressure Team USA faced after putting together such a star-studded roster for the Paris Games.

"We had a lot of pressure obviously. We had to get it done. For me, my first experience in the Olympics, it was more than I could imagined and I'm super proud of what we did."

Curry got off to a slow start in the Olympics but came up big for the United States when it mattered most. The Golden State Warriors star erupted for 36 points in the semi-finals and followed that up with a 24-point barrage in the gold medal game.

Finishing atop the competition is nothing new for Steph Curry, as he's won four championships with the Golden State Warriors. Nonetheless, securing gold in the Summer Games was a new achievement for him. Up until this year, his only international play with Team USA was in the World Cup in 2010 and 2014.

Steph Curry links up with former NBA All-Star at New York Mets game

Following his run with Team USA in the Olympics, Steph Curry has some downtime before the 2024-25 season gets underway. The former MVP was spotted hanging out with a former All-Star at an MLB game.

On Monday night, photos of Curry in attendance at the New York Mets game against the Boston Red Sox surfaced online. Among the people that he was in a suite with was Carmelo Anthony.

Anthony and Curry's careers intertwined for years, though the former was in the Eastern Conference at the start. Eventually, they'd both be in the Western Conference when Anthony departed from the Knicks to play for the Thunder, Rockets, Trail Blazers and Lakers.

These two also spent some time together in Paris, as Anthony made the trip to see Team USA up close. He and Curry were part of an iconic photo as the former Olympic star was in awe of Curry's masterful play down the stretch.

Steph Curry has a few more weeks of relaxation left. Armed with a new-look roster, the former MVP will look to get Golden State back in the playoffs.
