Steph Curry hilariously describes his absurd dagger in win over Rockets: “I just kind of surprised myself with that shot”
Steph Curry hit an absurd buzzer-beater during the Golden State Warriors 127-120 win over the Houston Rockets on Sunday. Curry brought back the famous "night night" celebration. The shot clock was winding down, and the Warriors desperately needed to extend their six-point lead. There were 40 seconds left on the clock. The game could've gone either way.
However, Curry ensured that wasn't the case as he made a difficult shot, which he later revealed surprised him too. Here's what he said after the game (via NBC Sports):
"I just kind of surprised myself with that shot... . ''Me and Draymond put our hands above our heads like we really won something, kind of making fun of ourselves for our slow start.''
That play sealed the Warriors' first road win of the season. They were 0-8 away from home entering that contest. Steph Curry and the Warriors erupted in wild celebrations after he made the shot, which resulted in the two-time MVP pulling out the "night night" celebration.
It hasn't been a successful year for the Dubs so far. They have posted a losing record (8-9), so the importance of this win was understandable. It was also a solid performance from the team, as they dominated the Rockets for most of the game.
"Splash Bros" in full effect as Steph Curry and Klay Thompson combined for 74 points against Rockets
The Golden State Warriors registered their first win of the season behind Steph Curry and Klay Thompson's dominant outings. Curry bagged 33 points, six rebounds and a season-high 15 assists. Thompson scored 41 points, shooting 10-of-13 from the 3-point line.
The Warriors put on a shooting clinic as a team. They shot 53.5% from the field, including 24 triples. The win came against an underdog team, but the Warriors will take it. They needed a morale boost after a slow start, so this was an ideal way to do it.

Thompson's return to form is also crucial. He has shot 50% from the floor in consecutive games, helping the Warriors win on both occasions. If he can maintain this efficiency, the Dubs could find their way back to the top again.
It could help Steph Curry and Co. get through their schedule over the next month as they will be on the road 10 out of 16 games. The Warriors still have room for improvement, though. Their second unit needs to step up consistently, especially with the Warriors set to face many playoff contenders during that stretch.
