Steph Curry Injury Update: Steve Kerr "concerned" about Golden State Warriors star following reports of MRI scan
Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry left the game against the Dallas Mavericks with an apparent injury. With Curry potentially missing more time, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr shared his thoughts on the matter.
The Golden State Warriors notched an inspiring win against the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday night. With a 119-113 win, the Dubs managed to climb one game above .500 again. However, the win was soured by Curry's injury.
Warriors superstar Steph Curry was seen leaving the game during the third quarter after hurting his left leg on a layup attempt. Curry, who made his return from a shoulder injury in January, recorded 21 points, six assists and seven rebounds before leaving the game.
The superstar's impact on the team's overall performance has been telling. Considering that the Warriors haven't been as effective of a unit this season, Curry has remained lethal and has kept Golden State's offense going on most nights.
Although the guard left the game in the third quarter, the Warriors didn't lose their fire. Led by a near triple-double performance by Draymond Green, the Dubs managed to hold on to their lead to close out the game against the Mavs.
The current update on Curry appears to be slightly positive as the initial X-rays came back negative. However, the team will remain concerned about the results of the MRI scan.
Warriors head coach Steve Kerr was asked to provide more information about his superstar after the game. Unfortunately, Kerr didn't have much more to add. As per ESPN's Kendra Andrews, he said:
"Any time a guy gets an MRI, there is a concern level. So we will just have to wait and see the results...this has happened many times over the years. Fingers crossed he's OK."
Kerr's concerns regarding one of his best players practically sum up the mood of the entirety of the Warriors fanbase. With Curry being a vital cog in Golden State's system, the Dubs are undoubtedly facing a massive problem on their hands.
Golden State are safely in the Play-In picture in seventh place. However, given how tight the West is at this point in time, the Dubs are in no position to take on a losing streak in any manner.

Steph Curry's absence could spell ruin for Golden State
It goes without saying that Steph Curry is probably the most valuable element on the Golden State Warriors' roster. Although his style of play often sees him move without the ball, Curry creates opportunities for his teammates simply by being on the floor.
However, this is still secondary. What the superstar can do on the scoring front is hard to recreate on a nightly basis.
The Warriors do have solid scorers in Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole. However, their scoring performances don't always produce the same impact that Steph Curry does.
In this regard, the Dubs will hope that Curry's absence is short-term at best. Curry's previous injury saw him sidelined for over 10 games.
The Warriors were fortunate at the time as they had their eight-game home stand at the time. This time, however, the schedule doesn't favor them as much.
