Wednesday marks the 23rd anniversary of 9/11, with several popular figures sharing an emotional tribute, from Steph Curry's mom, Sonya, to LA Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. They shared their tributes by posting on Instagram stories to commemorate the tragedy. The former Lakers big man, on the other hand, posted a heartfelt message on his handle.

Phoenix Mercury guard Sophie Cunningham and New York Knicks forward Julius Randle's wife also shared tributes. Their posts were an important reminder of honoring what happened to the victims and not letting their sacrifice be in vain.

Aside from Steph Curry's mother's post, Michael Jordan and Bryant previously paid tribute to 9/11

With several prominent figures such as Steph Curry's mom and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar paying tribute, there was a time when Bulls legend Michael Jordan and Lakers legend Kobe Bryant also did their way of respecting the victims.

Shared by ThrowbackHoops (@ThrowbackHoops) on X, formerly known as Twitter, Kobe Bryant once wore custom USA Flag sneakers in honor of the 9/11 victims.

Meanwhile, Michael Jordan wanted to do his part and share some of his wealth by donating his entire salary in support of the 9/11 relief efforts. Shared by Ballislife.com on X, the six-time NBA champion made his return to the NBA when 9/11 occurred on the same date.

After securing his sixth championship, Jordan briefly retired from the league for three seasons. He came back to play two more seasons with the Washington Wizards before eventually hanging up his jersey once again. An hour after the announcement of his return, the 9/11 attack occurred.

The NBA community has been vocal on important subject matters, such is the case with how Steph Curry's mom and other NBA legends doing their part to commemorate the 9/11 victims.
