Steph Curry's sister Sydel Curry hangs out with her husband at ASU campus promoting her vote for Kamala Harris
It's no secret that Steph Curry is one of many high-profile athletes and celebrities who have endorsed Kamala Harris for the 2024 presidential race. Curry's sister, Sydel Curry, also voted for Harris, proudly casting her vote with her husband, Damion Lee, at the Arizona State University campus in Phoenix.
Sydel shared a photo of herself with Lee at ASU showing off their "Black Voters for Harris-Walz" sign. With Lee playing for the Suns, they were registered to vote in Arizona. Lee previously played with Steph in Golden State from 2018 to 2022, winning a title in his final season there.
Here's what Sydel wrote in the post:
"Hanging out with some ASU students who are doing practicing their civil duties."
Sydel Curry's post sparked some backlash from Donald Trump supporters, with some sending her harsh messages and even correcting her grammar.
"I'm never one to fight ugly with ugly. If you're gonna talk about me, just put it in your regular group chats like a regular person. Less risky," Sydel wrote.
As of this story's writing, Donald Trump is ahead of Kamala Harris in the voting results. Several states, including Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Arizona, Hawaii and Alaska, have yet to declare a winner, as per NBC News.
Steph Curry endorses Kamala Harris as president
When the Democratic National Convention held its rally in Chicago, Steph Curry made a surprise appearance through a video recording. Curry expressed his support for Kamala Harris as the next president of the United States. He also encouraged everyone to vote, as part of the NBA's initiative to promote civic participation.
"Together, we can do all things and continue to inspire the world," Curry said (per NBC Sports Bay Area). "That's why I believe that Kamala, as president, could bring that unity back and continue to move our country forward."
"I got to visit Kamala with my team at the White House last year, and I can tell you one thing I knew then and definitely know now: The Oval Office suits her well."
Curry was not the only NBA player to endorse the vice president. LeBron James also announced her support for Kamala Harris on X (formerly Twitter) a few days before the election.
