Steph Curry's wife Ayesha Curry gets back to Afro-Jamaican roots with plantain and curry chicken meal in Toronto
Steph Curry's wife, Ayesha Curry, is in Toronto, Canada. The chef, author, businesswoman and TV host was welcomed at her mother's house. Curry shared a short video of the meal, which included plantain and curry chicken with rice.
"At my mama's house. Plantain and curry chicken on arrival," she captioned the post.
Ayesha's mother is of Afro-Jamaican descent and was raised in Toronto until she turned 14.
Ayesha announced her arrival in the city by showing a video of the moon in the Toronto sky and then letting fans know how her family welcomed her.
Ayesha Curry has been doing a little bit of everything of late, including entering the world of publishing with a young adult novel. At the start of October, she shared an Instagram post announcing that her company, Sweet July Books, will be publishing a young adult horror novel written by Trisha Tobias.
"If you love a good spooky story as much as I do, you have to read HONEYSUCKLE & BONE by @misstrishatobias! This is the first book from my publishing imprint, Sweet July Books at @zandoprojects.
"It’s a YA horror novel that touches on class, grief, and cultural identity — all set against the sticky heat, sweet aromas, and lush landscape of Jamaica. If you have teens, they’ll love this story - and I know you will too," she captioned the post.
Moreover, Ayesha continues expanding her portfolio with another product that could get plenty of attention from some NBA players.
Ayesha Curry details what inspires her to be a business owner
Ayesha Curry has accomplished several achievements in the business world and she doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon. She has joined forces with her husband Steph for some projects, but she's mainly the head of several ones that have enjoyed success.
Talking about her motivations to be a business owner, she said (via Forbes):
“For me, it’s more about impact over legacy. My hope is to make a lasting impact in the space. People don’t have to know it was me or know my name. But if we can change the way the industry looks and the way products are looked at and used and the impact on the community, that will be worth it."
Ayesha partnered with her sister-in-law Sydel Curry-Lee to start Domaine Curry Wine, a brand that has been in development since 2018.
