Steph Curry set to be richer by $75 million after receiving shares as part of new deal with Under Armour

Steph Curry is set to become richer after receiving shares from Under Armour worth $75 million. The deal is part of their renewed partnership, where Curry became the president of the company's Curry Brand. He will also have an increased role as Under Armour's ambassador.

According to the latest SEC filing (h/t Mike Vorkunov of The Athletic) by Under Armour, the Golden State Warriors superstar received 8,823,530 restricted stock units on April 3. The $75 million reward will confer in two installments in 2029 and 2034.

Curry and the Baltimore-based company have been working together since 2013. Curry's popularity has helped Under Armour become one of the biggest sporting brands in the world. He has had ten signature shoes under UA and would look to have more in the future.

Steph Curry signed a new long-term extension to stay with Under Armour, which was announced by the company at the end of March. Curry's new deal will extend past his playing career and could even become a lifetime contract if certain revenue targets are met.

The Golden State Warriors superstar revealed to Rolling Stone last year that his new deal with Under Armour could be as lucrative as $1 billion. He remains one of the most popular and marketable athletes in the world.

"If the past ten years have shown me anything, it's that Under Armour and I can build great things together," Curry said in an official statement. "It's all about impacting athletes and creating products that perform and resonate with them, and Under Armour does it best. In 2013, Under Armour bet on me and I bet on them, and I'm all in on taking this next step together."

Steph Curry's partnership with Under Armour has not always been smooth sailing. Curry almost left the company in 2018 after getting into a dispute with company founder, Kevin Plank. The four-time NBA champ was unhappy with the sales of the Curry 3s, and Plank didn't appreciate Curry not wearing UA gear to games.

Plank's show of support to former President Donald Trump a year earlier turned the relationship sour, but after an intense meeting between Curry and Plank, both parties decided to improve their relationship.

The two-time MVP was given more power to have input on all his products. The partnership was saved and could become a lifetime one. With a current net worth of $160 million, Curry will likely increase it with his new deal with Under Armour.
