Steph Curry shares his opinion on VP Kamala Harris replacing Joe Biden as Democrats' Presidential candidate

Steph Curry has known U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris for quite some time and they reportedly share a friendship. After President Joe Biden announced that he would no longer be contesting the upcoming elections against former president Donald Trump, Biden endorsed Harris to replace him.

Ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics, Team USA men’s basketball held its opening news conference on Thursday. Curry also spoke about the presumptive Democrat nominee:

“For her in this moment going ahead, it’s all about positive energy and optimism knowing how divided our country is right now.”

He added, via USA Today:

“Interesting times in our country right now. Hopefully with her on the ticket, we’re winning the election. It’s a big deal, to say the least.”

Curry wasn't only one rooting for Harris, as Team USA coach Steve Kerr shared his support for the probable Democrat candidate as well:

“Kamala Harris is a great candidate and I will support her.”

There’s another strong connection between Kamala Harris and Steph Curry’s Golden State Warriors. Harris, who was born in Oakland, claims to be a lifelong Warriors fan. As per her own words, she once even let go of her security detail and jumped into public transport fearing she might miss the start of a Golden State game.

Steph Curry spoke about Harris’ connection with the team as well:

“She represents the Bay Area and is a big support of us, and we’re gonna give that energy right back to her. (It’s a) monumental next couple months for our country and the direction we’re headed.”

While Harris tries to confirm her Democratic nomination, Steph Curry and the rest of the U.S. squad will try to bring home Olympic gold. They start their campaign against Serbia on Sunday.

VP Kamala Harris met Steph Curry and the rest team in Las Vegas during training camp

Team USA held its Olympic training camp in Las Vegas, before heading to Abu Dhabi and London for its Showcase games. Vice President Kamala Harris visited the team at pratice on July 9 and provided encouragement to the team. She said:

“Our nation is cheering you on. We are so proud of you. Go to Paris and bring back that gold.”

She shook hands with the team and posed for photos with the entire roster. Kevin Durant, who is eyeing his third Olympic gold, said:

“It was cool. We got her support. She’s been out here working, and her life is so busy, so for her to come out here and check us out, it’s an honor. I’m glad she was able to come through.”

While Kamala Harris did show her support to the team, she will be needing a lot of support from her fellow Americans in the coming days.
