Steph Curry Stats Tonight: How did Warriors superstar fare vs Wizards in his comeback game from injury? (Nov. 4)
Steph Curry returned on Monday after missing three games due to a left peroneal strain he suffered after his game against the LA Clippers. Curry and the Golden State Warriors were on the road once again to take on the Washington Wizards.
Heading into the Wizards game, the Warriors were on a three-game winning streak despite not having Curry in their lineup. However, it appears that Golden State is still better with Steph, as he went off to a good start in the first quarter.
Steph Curry drilled his first shot attempt from three-point land. However, Warriors coach Steve Kerr didn't want to overwork his ankle and sat him down for the majority of the first quarter.
Curry then came back in the half of the second quarter. He immediately made an impact on his team as he efficiently set up his teammates. Steph came up with four immediate assists, solidifying the Warriors’ offense.
Curry then added five more points, making a couple of free throws and knocking down a buzzer-beating three-point shot to end the first half. His buzzer-beater put Golden State on top 54-45.
Come the third quarter, Steph Curry popped off for 15 points to start the second half. He found his rhythm and took over for the Golden State Warriors. Supporting his offensive output were Jonathan Kuminga and Buddy Hield.
Ultimately, the Warriors came out on top 125-112. Curry had a huge comeback game with 24 points, six assists, and three rebounds.
Warriors vs Wizards recap: Steph Curry’s dynamite return from injury
The Golden State Warriors notched their fourth consecutive victory and second straight on the road after beating the Washington Wizards on Monday. The matchup between the Warriors and Wizards marked the return of Steph Curry, who was out for three games due to an ankle injury.
Curry played under restricted minutes, but still came out as Golden State’s best player. Despite having a quiet start on offense, Curry popped off in the third quarter scoring 15 points in the period alone. He finished with 24 points, six assists, and three rebounds, matched with 46.7% shooting from the field.
It wasn’t his best shooting performance, but it was efficient enough to lead the Warriors to victory. Buddy Hield once again proved why he’s the second option for Golden State as he came up with an all-around performance adding 20 points, five rebounds, two steals, and one block.
Four other Warriors players were in double-scoring figures. These were namely Draymond Green (18 points), Jonathan Kuminga (15 points), Trayce Jackson-Davis (12 points), and Moses Moody (10 points).
