Steph Curry still on Olympic hangover as he shares new snaps with Team USA big-3 in latest IG update
In the wake of Steph Curry and LeBron James' win with Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics, the two NBA stars collaborated on an Instagram post this week. On Wednesday, Steph Curry and LeBron James posted a collab on Instagram, showcasing two photos of the duo and Kevin Durant at the Olympics.
The first photo shows the trio with their gold medals after defeating France in the gold medal game, while the second photo shows the trio in the lab together, working out in Team USA gear in France.
Along with the two photos, the collab post also featured a caption, highlighting the fact that despite all competing against one another in the NBA, the trio all worked together to secure Olympic gold.
"Same Team…Winning Team"
With all three of the NBA stars closing in on the age of 40, the 2024 Paris Olympics were viewed as the one and only chance the three had to compete alongside one another. While there's a very slim chance that fans get a chance to see the trio at the 2028 Olympics, it seems highly unlikely.
Additionally, while James and Durant had previously represented Team USA together, and Curry and Durant won two NBA titles together, the trio hadn't shared the same uniform before until this summer.
NBA fans robbed of a chance to see LeBron James and Steph Curry compete alongside one another in Golden State
In recent years, there has been quite a bit of talk surrounding LeBron James and Steph Curry joining forces for a season before both players ride off into the sunset. This summer, at the 2024 Paris Olympics, talk of James and Curry teaming up for an NBA run together was reignited as fans watched the duo compete together.
This week, NBA insider Marc Stein revealed that prior to the 2023-24 NBA trade deadline, there was talk of the Lakers potentially sending James to Golden State to compete alongside Steph Curry.
From the sounds of things, the Lakers weren't exactly interested in entertaining the deal, however, ultimately it was James' agent, Rich Paul, who shut down talk of any potential trade.
As Stein reported:
"League sources say that the reported talks between the teams at the time never got that far in large part because James’ agent Rich Paul was adamantly opposed to the idea of LeBron James swapping Southern California for Northern California."
As Stein explained, Rich Paul reportedly didn't think James switching teams once again would be a good look for the future Hall of Famer. Rather than putting James in a position to deal with the repercussions of switching teams once again, Paul reportedly shut down trade talks between the two teams.
Given that, it seems as though fans may never have a chance to see James and Curry compete alongside one another again, with the exception of a potential All-Star Game appearance.
