Steph Curry trademarks viral "Nuit Nuit" catchphrase from Team USA's gold-medal game against France

After winning gold in France, Steph Curry has reportedly trademarked his viral "Nuit Nuit" catchphrase from the 2024 Paris Olympics. The phrase, which translates to "Night Night" in English, and is a derivative of the common French phrase "Bonne Nuit" - which means "Good night," was used by Curry in an interview after he and the team's gold medal win.

Now, after capturing his first, and likely only, Olympic medal, SC30, Curry's company, has filed paperwork to trademark "Nuit Nuit". According to Cllct, Curry and his team filed paperwork in Europe on Aug. 14, just days after he and Team USA defeated France in the gold medal game in Paris.

On Monday, Steph Curry and his team then filed the trademark in the United States with the goal of using the phrase on merchandise after Fanatics decided to sell merchandise on its site with the phrase and an image of Curry.

At the same time, knockoff replicas of a hoodie Curry was wearing with the catchphrase alongside a graphic of the Eiffel Tower have been circulating online. Now, Curry and his SC30 company are set to own the trademark on "Nuit Nuit", opening up the door to a slew of product releases for Curry and his brand.

Steph Curry reportedly had Team USA locker room celebration cut short after gold medal win

In Team USA's gold medal game against France, Steph Curry erupted for 24 points, leading both teams in scoring as he and Team USA captured a 98-87 win. The performance marked the second jaw-dropping performance in a row for Curry, who logged a whopping 36 points in Team USA's narrow win over Serbia.

While his 36-point outing against Serbia kept USA in pursuit of the gold medal, his 24-point outing against France couldn't have come at a better time for the four-time NBA champ. With each shot Steph Curry seemed to be gaining confidence, leading up to an unbelievable three-pointer late in the game while double teamed.

The performance was apparently so hard to believe that Curry had his gold medal celebration cut short in the locker room. According to Anthony Edwards, who spoke on a podcast this week, he, Durant, and Curry were all randomly drug tested after the game.

As he explained during a recent sitdown at Fanatics Fest:

"After the gold medal—I'm not gonna lie—me and him (Durant) had a—what do they call it?—a drug test. We couldn't even celebrate in the locker room because me, him and Steph had to take like a drug test or something."
