Steve Kerr makes big admission amid Golden State Warriors’ tough start: “I’ve failed, I’ve got to bring these guys together”
The Golden State Warriors have had a horrid start to the season by their standards. Coach Steve Kerr has taken responsibility for their lapses, saying he needs to bring the players together.
After 16 games, the Warriors are ranked 11th in the Western Conference standings with seven wins. They have failed to win a single game on the road in eight attempts. Coming into the season, the Warriors were considered championship favorites but have been unimpressive.
The reason for the discord and horrid display from the Warriors is unclear. Some believed the early altercation between Draymond Green and Jordan Poole would affect the team's chemistry.
However, Kerr is distraught by what is happening with the team. He has taken full responsibility, saying he has to bring the players together. According to NBA journalist Marcus Thompson II, Kerr believes he has failed in his duties so far:
"I’ve failed. I’ve got to bring these guys together.”
Kerr has spoken about how he believes the veterans (Steph Curry and Andre Iguodala) on the team can help lift the remaining players.

Steve Kerr is responsible for the Golden State Warriors dynasty
The Warriors have been the most successful franchise in the past decade. Forbes' latest ranking of the most valuable NBA franchises had the Warriors at No. 1.
Since 2014, Kerr has led the Warriors to some of their most successful years in franchise history. Although they have seven championships, four came under Kerr in eight years.
While many expected the dynasty to continue to thrive, there is a chance that things might end sooner rather than later. Draymond Green could request a max deal, and the Warriors might not have cap space to complete such a deal.

Green is an integral part of the Warriors, and Curry also believes so. If the big man leaves, it could be the start of the end for their dynasty.
Kerr confirmed that the organization is aware that the dynasty will not last forever. He admitted that they are in the final stages.
Golden State Warriors need more production from their second unit
Curry has had an outstanding campaign so far, scoring at a high level. Unfortunately, he is left to do all the heavy lifting and is not getting many contributions from his supporting cast.
Kerr called out the team, saying they are playing like it is a pickup game. He was also irate with the second unit because he does not think they are playing with enough hunger.
"We lack collective grit. We're playing a Drew League game right now," Kerr said. "I've always felt the game rewards you if you commit to the game. If you really compete together, shots go in, calls go your way, breaks fall your way, and we're not earning any of this stuff. That's why we are winless on the road. It's a pickup game."
The Warriors will be looking for their first road win on Sunday night as they take on the Houston Rockets. The Rockets have the worst record in the Western Conference so far.
