"Stop the nonsense" - NBA fans humorously put down Tilman Fertitta proclaiming Rockets have the deepest roster

NBA fans reacted to Houston Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta claiming that his team has the deepest roster entering the upcoming NBA season. The team looked promising last season and had the best record in the last 20 games of the season, however, for NBA fans, Fertitta is getting ahead of himself.

As far as the roster goes, Houston does have talent on the team. They have young stars like Alperen Sengun, Jalen Green and Jabari Smith Jr. However, fans checked the team owner when he said the Rockets have the deepest roster.

Reacting to the post by NBA Central, some fans called the claim nonsensical.

"Stop the nonsense," a fan wrote.
"Cmon man lets be serious 😂," another fan wrote.

Some fans claimed that Fertitta forgot to consider the New York Knicks and the defending champions Boston Celtics.

"The Celtics and Knicks exist but alright," a fan wrote.
"The New York Knicks would like a word," another fan wrote.
"Rockets fans don’t even believe this cmon man," a fan wrote.
"I want what this guy is smoking," a fan wrote.

Some fans were so taken aback by the claim that they double-checked if the account posting the claim was NBA Centel, the parody account.

"Double checked to see if this was NBACentel," a fan wrote.
"Thought this was centel 😭," another fan wrote.

Analyzing the depth of Houston Rockets for next season

The Houston Rockets were the best team in the league in the last 20 games. They won 11 consecutive games and didn't lose a game for almost the entire March. However, they finished 11th with a 41-41 record, behind the Warriors.

Houston will enter the season with Alperen Sengun, Fred VanVleet, Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks and Jabari Smith Jr. From the talent standpoint, the team's starting lineup is in fact one of the deepest in the league.

However, apart from VanVleet, the starting lineup lacks experience. Only Steven Adams and VanVleet on the roster have 10 or more years of experience playing in the league. The lack of experience could impact their winning percentage in the season and more so, in the playoffs.

However, it is their second unit that can play a crucial part for them. With Steven Adams, Amen Thompson, Cam Whitmore and Jeff Green in the backup, the bench has a lot to offer.

The presence of coach Ime Udoka would also play a crucial part in the team’s success. Udoka can turn a very young team into a championship-caliber side, as he previously did with the Boston Celtics.

Amid the hope of having a better season, perhaps the team should not forget that the Memphis Grizzlies and San Antonio Spurs are also set to look different this season.
