Tari Eason's mom reveals hilarious tunnel trash-talk with Draymond Green during NBA Cup skirmish
Tari Eason’s mother, Teroya Eason, was at Toyota Center on Wednesday to cheer for the Houston Rockets against the Golden State Warriors. While her son played, she was engaged on X, formerly Twitter, talking trash to Rockets critics. She highlighted what the home team did and bantered with fellow supporters.
After the game, she tweeted about a halftime encounter with Draymond Green:
“I saw Draymond in the tunnel at halftime and I told him with he utmost respect in my voice 'you can’t have this one Dray.'"
Teroya’s tweet noted that Green just shrugged at her.
Tari Eason’s mom was excited even before the game started. She came in wearing a referee’s uniform and posted on X:
“I came dressed as the law.
“Just in case they need me!!!
“We taking this by any means necessary b**ch!”
Eason did not start, but he had a big impact on the game. He tallied nine points, seven rebounds and one assist. What did not show on the box score was his defense on Steph Curry, whom he helped limit to 19 points on 8-for-17 shooting.
Ime Udoka used Tari Eason’s versatility to match up against the Dubs. He played four positions and even dabbled at center when Alperen Sengun briefly went out for a rest. Eason was a key reason the Rockets scored a nail-biting 91-90 win against their tormentors. Houston won for the first time against the Bay Area team since Feb. 20, 2020.
More important than breaking the losing streak, the Rockets punched a ticket to Las Vegas for a semifinal battle with the OKC Thunder.
Hours after the game, Teroya Eason posted on X:
“I can’t sleep. Can somebody please drop an anvil on me? PLEASE!”
Tari Eason’s mom shared Draymond Green’s past comment about her son
Tari Eason’s mom pinned a clip of Draymond Green and Jamal Crawford discussing basketball. Crawford asked Green who among the current crop of NBA players most resembled his game.
The four-time NBA champ responded:
“From what I have seen from [Tari Eason], he can dribble the ball. He can shoot it okay, but you can get better at it. … He is a good athlete. He’s not a crazy, freak athlete but he’s a good athlete, great length, great size, rebounds the ball [and] not soft at all! He ain’t backing down from nothing and does the little things.”
Green sees himself in Eason, prompting the Rockets forward’s mom to pin the conversation in her X account. It’s no wonder she “respectfully” tried to trash-talk the Warriors star on Wednesday.
