"Tell Ham to come on back" - Gilbert Arenas takes a dig at JJ Redick as Lakers suffer blowout loss to T-Wolves

Former Washington Wizards star Gilbert Arenas had all the jokes as he took a dig at Lakers coach JJ Redick. This took place during a live stream on Playback, as Arenas and his podcast co-hosts witnessed the Lakers' 109-80 blowout loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday.

With the Lakers down big in the fourth quarter, the 3x NBA All-Star was watching and subtly mocked Redick, saying:

"Hey tell Ham to come on back man," Gilbert sneered.

When asked by his co-host if the Lakers needed Darvin Ham -- the coach Redick replaced -- back, Arenas replied:

"We need somebody to blame." Arenas laughed, "I just wanna be like, its the coach. It is the coach's fault." he continued.

Redick has been under scrutiny amid the Lakers' recent struggles. They have now lost five of their last seven games after going down to the Wolves.

JJ Redick not seeing Lakers play from earlier in season amid slump

The Los Angeles Lakers started the season in a promising manner as under JJ Redick's leadership the team won their first three games and were scoring for fun. The problems began during their next five games on the road, where they only managed one win.

After their loss to the Timberwolves, Redick bemoaned the Lakers' recent play and hopes to rediscover their form from earlier this season.

"I've not seen us play the way we played earlier in the year," Redick said. "I mean, I've got to spend all day tomorrow with my staff trying to figure out how we get back to that."

Redick also believes that the team's second-half performance against the Denver Nuggets was not an "aberration" amid their continued offensive woes. In LA's 127-102 loss to the Nuggets on Nov. 23, they were limited to just 39 points in the second half.

Their offense hit another low point as they were held to just 80 points against the Timberwolves. This is the lowest tally the Purple and Gold have managed so far under JJ Redick.

Now just 12-9 this season (5-6 on the road), the Lakers currently sitting in eighth in the West standings and will need to change a few things if they are to qualify for the playoffs this season.
