“That team right there is flat-out scary” – Charles Barkley speculates Cavaliers are dangerous with their new roster, mentions Nets and Sixers struggling with their fresh roster

NBA analyst Charles Barkley has been known for some hot takes recently, but what he said on a recent episode of the TNT Tuesday show certainly isn't a hot take at all. Chalk talked about how the Cleveland Cavaliers could be one of the best teams in all of basketball throughout the regular season in the playoffs, which is 100% accurate.

"In a series, that team right there is flat out scary."

Clevaland Cavaliers Championship Chances

When looking at the roster that the Cleveland Cavaliers have put together, the team has a legitimate chance of even winning a title this year if all goes right.

Although it doesn't seem likely at the moment that they're going to get past teams like the Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics in the playoffs, they do have an opportunity to beat those teams if one of those squads has an injury or if they can come out and play their best brand of basketball.

We can even make a good argument at the moment that the Cleveland Cavaliers are going to be a better team than the Philadelphia 76ers throughout the year. Philadelphia has not played well to start the season at all and although it is a bit too early to say that it's going to be an issue, they're going to need to be playing much better if they want to be the team that they were hoping to be coming into the year.

Cleveland decided to go out and add Donovan Mitchell during the offseason and it was one of the best moves that this franchise has made in quite some time. With the addition of him and guys like Darius Garland and Evan Mobley, the Cavaliers have a legitimate chance of being one of the league's best this season.

The one thing to watch out for with the Cleveland Cavaliers is if they are a bit too young at the moment to finally be a team that could win a title this year. The future looks extremely bright for them, but we also have to remember that this team is young in terms of guys on the roster that are stars, so it could take a few years before they really get going. We've seen this in the past with teams like the Milwaukee Bucks and others, so it wouldn't be shocking to see if they do struggle come playoff time here and there.

The offseason move for Donovan Mitchell seems to truly be playing off here for the Cleveland Cavaliers as he's been a force to be reckoned with on both sides of the basketball this year. His one knock at the NBA level when he was with Utah was his defense, but as many know, he was an above-average defender at the University of Louisville in college.

If he can get back to that point, the Cleveland Cavaliers are going to be even better than they already are. He's shown some impressive improvements on the defensive side of the basketball and is also averaging 33.3 points per game this season.

The Cavaliers are still going to have to show a lot of people what they're truly about when it matters most. The start of the season for them has certainly been kind and we can expect that they're going to be one of the better teams in basketball come playoff time.
