"The blueprint is already laid"- Carmelo Anthony reflects on son Kiyan Anthony facing LeBron James' son Bronny James

NBA legend Carmelo Anthony's son, Kiyan Anthony, is still deciding where he plans to play NCAA basketball. However, despite that, there has been plenty of talk surrounding the second-generation hooper. More so given the fact that LeBron James' son, Bronny James, was drafted last summer.

Assuming Kiyan Anthony is a one-and-done college player, he would be draft eligible not this coming summer, but the summer after.

By that time, Bronny James will be entering the third year of his four-year contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. He is expected to be with the team full-time after developing in the G League. This would set the stage for Bronny and Kiyan to battle it out on the hardwood just like LeBron and Carmelo did.

The way Carmelo Anthony sees things, the blueprint for his son has already been laid out by his own career. During an appearance on "The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon," Anthony spoke about a wide range of topics, from the 2024 Olympics to Dwyane Wade's statue unveiling.

When the question arose, Anthony discussed his son's future, and his NBA dreams:

"The good thing is, you have somebody who's already been through it. The blueprint is already laid. The blueprint will get you there. Now, what you do when you get there, that's on you. But the blueprint is laid for you to go and follow and throw your own little salt and pepper on there."

Kiyan Anthony has the legacy of his father to carry forward. But more importantly, he has to make a name for himself.

"It's down to Syracuse and USC" – Carmelo Anthony sheds light on his son Kiyan Anthony's college decision

Currently, Carmelo Anthony's son Kiyan Anthony is in the midst of his final year of high school. While there has been tons of talk regarding where he will play NCAA basketball, it sounds like the second-generation hooper's mind is almost made up.

As Carmelo Anthony discussed with Jimmy Fallon on "The Tonight Show" this week, Kiyan Anthony may wind up announcing his college decision as soon as next week.

The announcement is expected to be made on the future Hall of Famer's "7 PM in Brooklyn" show, and from the sounds of things, it's down to two schools.

"He's deciding which college he wants to attend. It's down to two. It's down to Syracuse and USC. So, we'll see. That was a fine line that I couldn't cross, due to my ties – I got to let him do his thing. But it's been a fun process, man, just seeing him go through it."

While Anthony had a standout career with Syracuse, it sounds like he left Kiyan to make his own decision regarding his NCAA future. Whether or not he decides to follow in his father's footsteps of attending Syracuse, the end goal is the same: Make it to the NBA.
