The Miz picks Top 5 NBA players who should be WWE superstars feat. Draymond GreenĀ
WWE superstar The Miz talked on national TV about NBA players who could make it well as professional wrestlers alongside him. He listed Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors as among them.
Michael Gregory Mizanin spoke on NBA Today ahead of SummerSlam in his native town of Cleveland, Ohio, and presented his top five NBA players who would do well as WWE superstars.
His choices were very diverse and left host Malika Andrews both amused and surprised.
The Miz selected Indiana Pacers All-Star guard and Team USA member Tyrese Haliburton at No. 5.
He chose Haliburton because he was impressed by the courage that the former Iowa State standout showed when he went to Madison Square Garden for a WWE show. He called out Knicks star Jalen Brunson after they defeated the Knicks in the playoffs. Haliburton was booed throughout.
Then at No. 4, the WWE star chose fellow Ohio native LeBron James, whom he considers his "GOAT" for delivering on his promise to give Cleveland an NBA championship. He also asserted that 'The King' will help Team USA bring gold to the Paris Olympic Games.
At No. 3 comes Draymond Green. The Miz chose him as he brings controversy and drama both on and off the court, which he said fans would like to see.
NBA legend Michael Jordan is at No. 2, who is the GOAT to many but The Miz wants to see him take on his man James in the ring and settle once and for all the debate on who is the greatest of all time.
Landing on the top spot is Charles Barkely, whom the WWE star considers the OG of the league and someone he loved watching back in the day.
As a bonus in the list, The Miz gave love to former Cavaliers All-Star guard Mark Price, who he said represented Cleveland well during his time with the team from 1986 to 1995.
Draymond Green happens to be a favorite pick among WWE superstars
Draymond Green is seemingly a popular choice among WWE superstars, as Bayley sees the Golden State Warriors All-Star doing well in their lane.
Bayley made this known in an interview on the "Gabby AF" podcast back in January, listing down one of Draymond Green's qualities that should make him succeed in pro wrestling.
She said:
"His ruthlesseness. We like to break rules, but we get away with it. We have to teach him how to break rules and get away with it or choke someone out and get away with it. I think there is always a place for someone like him, and an athlete like him, with such big personality in the WWE..."
Last season, Draymond Green missed over a dozen of games for rough plays he dished out on big men Rudy Gobert (Minnesota) and Jusuf Nurkic (Phoenix) on separate occasions.
