"The new face of Versace underwear": Gabrielle Union hyped after Dwyane Wade's photoshoot with luxury fashion brand
Long past his 17 played seasons in the NBA, Dwyane Wade continues to thrive in his retirement era as he has made a face for Versace underwear. Out of excitement for her husband's latest endeavor, actress Gabrielle Union shared an image of Wade's photoshoot with the iconic brand. The campaign was originally launched last Friday.
This latest collaboration from the former Heat star was a long time coming as he is considered to be one of the most fashionable individuals who played in the league.
Union shared the photoshoot on his Instagram story while the three-time NBA champion posted it on his Instagram handle.
"The new face of @versace underwear," Union wrote.
It is a tremendous achievement for anyone to have their face imprinted on a luxury brand's latest lineup of clothing. For Dwyane Wade, it opens up the opportunity for future collaborations that could be happening anytime soon.
Dwyane Wade continues to find his footing in other facets of interests long past his NBA days
Before his Versace underwear campaign, Dwyane Wade originally started with an eyewear collaboration under the same brand. During his second lineup, Wade highlighted how the journey has been eye-opening for him, as per Esquire's Jonathan Evans.
"I'm 42 years old," Wade said. "I'm a retired athlete. It's supposed to be over for me. But I feel like I'm just getting started in so many areas in my life. Over the last ten-plus years, I've been a part of fashion. I've been a part of the shows. ... And so it's good to now be in this space and say, 'Hey, you're not old. You're not through. ... You still could be cool. ...'"
It could be a challenging path for any athlete once they enter retirement. Being a competitor for so many years, it is only normal to seek the latest outlet or endeavor to focus one's attention on. In Wade's position, he feels a sense of excitement when it comes to the fashion industry as he continues to learn and adapt to it.
