"The odds of Draymond being traded before the deadline just increased exponentially"- NBA Analyst believes Draymond Green will not get an extension

Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors have gotten off to a rough start after him and Jordan Poole got into a physical altercation during practice. Green has always been known as the heart and soul of this Warriors team.

After Green had crossed the line, speculation of his departure continued to do the rounds. The Warriors are extending Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins, further clouding Green's contract negotiations.

Some wonder if that could mean that the writing is on the wall for Green's days with the Warriors. That's what analyst Nick Wright believes. During his show "What's Wright," the analyst said that he thinks the odds of Draymond being traded have increased.

"What is noteworthy about this is the timing ... now that they've decided to give Poole the extension and to give Wiggins the extension," Wright said.
"I do not believe they are giving Draymond an extension. And I think the odds of Draymond being traded, as I said last week, I thought he would be traded before the deadline, just increased exponentially because you could get things of value for Draymond Green."

Green has been with the Warriors since they selected him in the second round of the 2012 NBA draft. He has averaged 8.7 points, 6.9 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game in his career.

Wiggins and Poole had career years last season. Wiggins made his first All-Star Game, averaging 17.2 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.2 assists. Poole averaged 18.5 points, 3.4 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game.

The Draymond Green news has taken over the national spotlight. Green is set to turn 33 in March and still plays at an elite level.

The Warriors have done an outstanding job over the years of reloading with some intriguing young talent. The problem is that the team has repeatedly approached or exceeded the NBA's salary tax. That salary situation could mean some difficult decisions for general manager Bob Myers and the Golden State front office.

"I think there is a lot of time left for the Warriors and Draymond Green to make that decision [on a contract extension], but certainly I think the opt in on his contract next summer is probably the most likely scenario."

With Steph Curry and Klay Thompson already under contract, things will get interesting for Golden State. Green has already said he wants a max extension and has a player option at the end of the 2022-23 season.
