"They f**king hated Darvin Ham": LeBron James' friend reacts to Lakers’ training vibes being at an all-time high
After media day, it's clear that LeBron James and the LA Lakers have a different vibe in how the team practices. The Athletic's Jovan Buha shared that under new head coach JJ Redick, the entire team has a positive attitude during practice.
The Lakers are still considered to be contenders this season, despite it being James' 22nd season in the NBA. The team didn't make significant changes to the roster over the summer. The biggest change was hiring Redick, following the exit of Darvin Ham.
According to Buha, the team has shown a positive attitude during practices.
"The vibes around the Lakers are at an all-time high. This is my fifth season covering the Lakers and my fifth training camp, and I cannot remember the Lakers having this kind of positive, joyous, and upbeat energy," Buha said.
James' good friend and podcaster, Cuffs The Legend, shared his thoughts on why the team is different this season:
"Translation: They f****n HATED HAM," Cuffs the Legend reposted.
With a new coach, the team looks to perform better than the previous season. Even though Redick is unproven in the NBA, the goal is to become confident enough to be a threat in the Western Conference.

The first day of training camp was productive for the Lakers, according to Redick
Following the Lakers' media day, training camp opened on Tuesday. Redick said that the first day went well and that the players and team addressed the topics that the coaching staff had talked about during the summer.
"I would say our preparation bore fruit. It was very productive day," Redick said. "I thought our guys came with a really high level of focus and intent and all of the things that we talked about over the last six to eight weeks and the things that we talked about yesterday, were reflected in how we played basketball today."
After practice, several people noted that Max Christie stood out and impressed the coaches. He even received a compliment from James about his performance during the first day of practice.
"I think Max’ll be a big part of our rotation," LeBron said. "He’s gotten better and better and I’m happy we were able to bring him back in the summertime. I look forward to a bright season from him."
Los Angeles may have the same group of playes but are confident that with Redick on board, the team can regain past glory.
