"They just added more sweat again": Fans roast the hype around NBA 2K25 ft. Paul George in 76ers avatar
Ahead of the release of NBA 2K25 in September, a preview picture of Paul George in the game's upcoming and previous versions has been making the rounds on social media. The comparison, posted by NBA Central on X, shared a similar visual of George in the Philadelphia 76ers jersey, titled "2K25 is coming different."
NBA fans on X decided to roast the "different" claim, highlighting that there does not seem to be any major difference in the images of the two versions.
"They just added more sweat again π," a fan tweeted.
"Literally just a change in expression," a fan tweeted.
"Paul George has Clippers jersey in 2K24 and Sixers jersey in 2K25. Of course itβs different," a fan tweeted.
"Corporate wants you to find the difference," a fan tweeted.
"They just added lotion and highlights to the player models ππ they not fooling me again," a fan tweeted.
"MF just put a vibrant filter and polished it up," a fan tweeted.
Though the graphics in the upcoming NBA 2K25 may not have much of an update, 2K revealed that the next version will have the "biggest update to the gameplay engine in 15 years."
NBA 2K25 drops 1st Gameplay Innovations trailer
NBA 2K released a gameplay trailer on Thursday for NBA 2K25 highlighting some of the biggest additions and improvements. Visual Concepts and 2K implemented ProPLAY as a potential game-changer for the new version, which resulted in the inclusion of 9,000 new in-game animations and a new dribble engine based on the players' real-life movements.
Speaking about the added enhancements to the video game, Visual Concepts Gameplay Director Mike Wang hyped up NBA 2K25 ahead of its release:
"Realism, customization and freedom are the key drivers behind this year's gameplay updates including one of the most impactful updates to our gameplay engine in years.
"Enhancements powered by ProPLAY inject a sense of energy, immersion, and, most importantly, authenticity to our game while the gameplay puts an unprecedented level of control in the player's hands to fully personalize how they dribble and shoot the ball."
NBA 2K25 will be released on Sept. 6 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. However, those who pre-order the game can get it on Sept. 4 for all of the aforementioned platforms except Switch.
