"This isn't news?"- HoF coach doubles down on Bronny James being 'bad' after slamming X user's post

LA Lakers rookie Bronny James made his G-League debut for the South Bay Lakers on Saturday. While his team secured a 14-point victory (110-96) over the Salt Lake City Stars, James did not perform well in his debut. In 31 minutes of action, he scored six points on a 2-for-10 shooting and turned the ball over five times.

James' numbers were posted by various NBA news pages, including Legion Hoops on X (Formerly Twitter). However, 2013 Coach of the Year George Karl does not seem to think that James' numbers were newsworthy. He made his own post saying that James' numbers did not deserve to be posted.

"Is Legion Hoops trying to create news by showing Bronny is bad, like everyone knew he would be?? This ain't news," George Karl tweeted.

NBA fans react to Bronny James' numbers in his G-League debut

It wasn't just Hall-of-Famer George Karl who shared his reaction to Bronny James' G-League debut. Many fans also chimed in on the numbers that he put on Saturday for the South Bay Lakers.

Several unimpressed fans made various jokes at the expense of James' performance.

"Triple single," one fan said.
"Bronny gonna be a problem in China next season," another fan said.
"Statisticians will say Bronny was the 1st player to achieve a rare 1,2,3,4,5,6 stat line across categories," one fan said.

Meanwhile, other fans took the time to stand up for Bronny James, with some pointing out that he's young and has plenty of time to work on his game.

"It will take time for him to develop. He'll have some really good games and really bad games while he develops," one fan said.
"He’s coming around. Improve every game," another fan said.
"Grown men in the comments calling a 19-year-old trash after a G league game. 'Y'all are the losers here," one fan said.

How has Bronny James performed in the NBA?

Bronny James has played in five NBA games for the LA Lakers so far. During the season opener against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Oct. 22, he and his father LeBron James made history as the first father-son duo to play together. That game was against the Minnesota Timberwolves and Bronny played just under three minutes and went scoreless.

Bronny did not suit up for the next three games and his next appearance was against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Oct. 30. He scored his first NBA basket in that game, hitting one shot out of two attempts.

He also suited up against the Toronto Raptors on Nov. 1, the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday and the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday. He only scored once in these three games, which was against the Grizzlies when he hit two free throws.
