"My first essential would be the Bible," Haliburton said. (0:10) "Over the last two years, my religion has become very important in my life. Just understanding that I'm made in the image of God in a world where you have bad game and they are killing you on social media or confidence goes up and down, I can always come right here.
"This is my peace. Just understanding that I'm made in his image and he's the only one who can really judge me," he continued.
Tyrese Haliburton is currently with Team USA gearing up for the 2024 Paris Olympics. After back-to-back stellar seasons with the Pacers, Haliburton was rewarded with a place on the star-studded Team USA roster for the quadrennial competition.
Haliburton led Indiana to the Eastern Conference finals before he was forced to miss Game 3 and Game 4 with a left hamstring injury. His absence was felt by the Pacers, who were swept by the Boston Celtics. The former Iowa State star also revealed the one verse from the Bible that deeply resonates with him.
"Growing up, the verse that everybody got tattooed on was Philippians 4:13, "I can do all through Christ who strengthens me," and I always believed in that, but I never read the Bible, so it's been important to me last two years."
