"Too much genocide in their blends"- Al Horford's sister Anna Horford maligns Starbucks amid allegations of providing financial support to Israel
Anna Horford, the sister of Boston Celtics big man Al Horford, sent a strong message on X/Twitter against Starbucks for its alleged support of Israel in their conflict with Palestine.
Horford accused the company of supporting Israel's 'genocide' against Palestine when somebody tweeted they preferred Starbucks coffee over Dunkin' Donuts:
"Eh, Starbucks tastes a bit too bloody to me. Way too much genocide in their blends."
When an X user replied that Starbucks has never donated money to any government or military and has tried to help people in Gaza, Horford clapped back by saying it sued a labor union for showing online support to Palestine.
"Starbucks literally sued a labor union of Starbucks workers over their pro-Palestine social media comments. Allies protest in solidarity," she added.
This has been a sensitive topic for a while now, but Anna Horford didn't hesitate to touch on it and blame a major corporation.
Horford isn't one who stays quiet when she sees something she doesn't like or a situation she wants to make fun of. It's happened before when she talked about certain NBA teams or when she spotted singer Ciara at a Celtics game earlier in the postseason.
Anna Horford has been very supportive of the Celtics' 2024 playoff run
Anna Horford, as usual, has been very active on social media, sharing her opinion on NBA-related topics. The Boston Celtics are two wins away from winning their first championship since 2008 and the 18th in the team's history. Horford didn't hesitate to praise HC Joe Mazzulla:
“I hope Joe Mazzulla gets his flowers because what he’s done for this team cannot be overstated. He’s been exactly who they’ve needed.”
She was also happy for Celtics star Jaylen Brown, who went off during the 2024 Eastern Conference finals against the Indiana Pacers and won the Larry Bird trophy as the MVP of the series.
Horford took to Twitter to celebrate Brown's achievement:
"Let’s go JB!!! 💪🏼💪🏼☘️☘️," Anna tweeted.
Her relationship with the Celtics and their fans is deep, contrary to what she developed with the 76ers'. The C's are now closer to winning the NBA title and Horford seems to be really excited about it.
