"Towels were on" - Charles Barkley recounts hilarious steam room shenanigans, leaving NBA TNT crew in stitches

Charles Barkley and the cast on NBA on TNT are a straight comedy. Recently, the former NBA player and the crew gave one more reason why breaking them apart would be a bad idea. The Phoenix Suns legend recounted a funny story behind the bracelet on his wrist.

While the cast was discussing NBA playoffs on the latest episode of the show, Kenny Smith noticed a “great” bracelet on Chuck’s wrist. When Smith asked where he got the bracelet from, Barkley’s response left them in stitches.

“I got this bracelet from a guy in the steam room. Back in Arizona, I saw this guy wearing this in the steam room and I noticed the dark and light,” Barkley said.

As everyone laughed, Barkley added that he was impressed by the bracelet and told the guy that he had never seen that kind of bracelet before. Barkley added that after they came out of the steam room, the guy approached him with the bracelet and gave it to him, which prompted curious Smith to shoot another question.

“Were towels on or off?” asked Smtih.
“Towels were on,” Barkley confirmed.

As if the conversation was not hilarious already, Charles Barkley added to the spice and accidentally revealed that he didn’t know the name of the person who gifted him the bracelet. Apparently, Shaquille O’Neal already knew the hilarious story behind the bracelet but wanted Barkley to narrate the story on national TV.

Charles Barkley and TNT’s future in question amidst NBC outbidding Disney

NBA on TNT has been, without a question, the most entertaining show for NBA fans for decades now. Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith, Ernie Johnson, and Shaquille O’Neal have entertained fans with their shenanigans and stories for almost four decades. However, according to the latest reports, “NBA on TNT” might be in the last season.

Charles Barkley also said there is no clarity about the future of the show as NBC was in serious contention to grab the media rights from TNT. The media rights re-negotiations with the NBA were going to happen soon since the rights had ended last month. Barkley remarked that earlier, the deal used to get signed in advance, but this year, it didn’t happen.

NBA Insider Bill Simmons went to the extent of saying that the deal between the NBA and NBC was already done. He said the deal was done over a week ago and that the NBA might be waiting for the playoffs to end, but he was sure that the NBA had gotten the rights over Warner Bros, the parent company of TNT.

Given how the crew has kept the viewers entertained for years, it is going to be heartbreaking for them.
