Trae Young drops astonished one-word reaction to Rutgers Women's star's absurd handle

As the saying goes, "Game recognize game." Trae Young couldn’t help but be impressed when he saw Rutgers Women's standout Kiyomi McMiller execute an incredible spin move that left her defenders frozen before hitting a jumper.

McMiller posted her third career double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds, helping the Scarlet Knights secure a commanding 86-48 victory over Wagner, improving their record to 7-4.

In the second quarter of the game, McMiller dazzled with a slick spin move that left even basketball experts, including Trae Young, in awe.

Young took to X (formerly Twitter) to react to the play, clearly impressed, and posted:

“Omg 😱 📝.”

Young himself is known for his handle and shooting ability from high school to the NBA, Young is averaging 21.5 points, 12.1 assists and 4.0 rebounds on 38.9% shooting this season.

Hawks coach credits Trae Young’s evolution

Trae Young, a three-time All-Star, has led the Hawks to the 2021 Eastern Conference Finals and helped them reach the semifinals of the 2023 NBA Cup, where they were defeated by the Milwaukee Bucks.

With the Hawks performing well this season, coach Quin Snyder credited Young for his development, noting his evolving game.

"When we talk with Trae and we talk about Trae, the word I like to use is evolution," Hawks coach Quin Snyder said (per ESPN). "Every player evolves. They just evolve in different ways.”
“He's been an important part of our young guys' growth and being able to elevate them. ... We know what a talented offensive player is, but I think in his mind being successful as a team, not just Trae, we've all got to do our part defensively. And he's doing that."

Though Young's 21.5 points per game is his lowest since his rookie season, his 12.1 assists per game is a career-high. His shooting numbers, including 38.9% overall and 31.5% from 3, are also career lows.

Still, he remains a key figure for the Hawks, alongside DeAndre Hunter, Jalen Johnson, Dyson Daniels and No. 1 pick Zaccharie Risacher, who are emerging as key pieces for the team.

Outside of Trae Young, the Hawks have seven players averaging double-digit points. The team is seventh in the Eastern Conference standings as of Sunday, having won seven of their last 10 games.
