Trae Young plays it cool as Pistons dish out his own medicine with savage post
The Detroit Pistons' social media account trolled Trae Young after the Pistons defeated the Atlanta Hawks in a closely fought game, 122-121, on Friday. As usual, the Pistons' social media handle posted an update about the result of the game, but this time, it made Trae Young its target.
The Pistons captioned the post,
"Booooo, take y'all *** home."
For anyone closely following Hawks or Young, the target was clear. The quote is from Young as he had said the same sentence to New York Knicks fans at the State Farm Arena on Wednesday.
Although the game was in Atlanta, some of the Knicks fans were present in the building to support their team. However, the Knicks ended up losing the game behind Young's double-double. After the game, in a postgame interview, Young used the same statement against Knicks fans.
After hearing their boos in the arena while he was talking to the reporter, Young said that he hoped the New York fans can exit the building as soon as possible.
"I hope these New York fans find their way to the exit real real quick."
However, when the Pistons trolled Young, he didn't fire back and played it rather cool in his reply.
"When I talk I be giving em captions," Young wrote in his reply.
The Pistons and the Hawks have the same 4-6 record in the Eastern Conference. The Hawks are ranked 9th in the East compared to the Pistons who are ranked 7th.
Trae Young's heroic performance goes to waste as the Pistons take down Hawks in last seconds
Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks have lost six of their first 10 games of the season so far. Young had a horrible game against the Boston Celtics, scoring only two points in a blowout loss on Monday. The Hawks' star guard could convert only one of his 10 field goal attempts.
Young made a comeback against the Knicks with a 23-point game performance while also registering 10 assists in the win against one of his biggest rivals. The three-time All-Star also elevated his game against the Pistons in Detroit, however, the team failed to capitalize on their star player's performance.
Trae Young had his fourth 30-point game of the season in just 10 appearances. He scored 35 points in 41 minutes. He shot 44.0% from the field and 50.0% from the 3-point line. Moreover, he also recorded 13 assists.
However, the Hawks players, except Jalen Johnson who also scored 20 points, did not show up in the game. As a result, the Pistons were able to squeak out a win after Cade Cunningham's go-ahead basket and key block in the final seconds.
Trae Young and the Hawks will next face the Chicago Bulls today, Saturday, on the second night of a back-to-back.
