Travis Scott makes special request to LeBron James ahead of Team USA's do-or-die game vs Serbia
After watching the France vs Germany men's basketball semifinals, rapper Travis Scott was in attendance to support Team USA against Nikola Jokic-led Serbia. Ahead of the semifinal game, Scott had a special request to James.
The American rapper wanted a LeBron James jersey for the game. Posting his special request on X, formerly known as Twitter, Scott wrote:
“Some body tell @KingJames, I need Olympic jerzzzz.”
Team Serbia was the toughest opponent for Team USA in this year's Olympics. Team USA trailed through three quarters, and at one point, trailed by as much as 15 points.
However, James and his teammates bounced back in the fourth quarter. Aided by Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, and Joel Embiid, the stars saved the day for Team USA, and earned their spot in the gold medal game by defeating Serbia, 95-91.
Given how legendary this game was for James, Travis Scott would be in luck if he gets the jersey. James became the fourth player in Olympic basketball history to have registered a triple-double.
Of the four times, he has done it twice. He had his first triple-double in the 2012 Olympics. Apart from him, Luka Doncic and Alexander Belov have achieved the feat.
The Lakers star scored 16 points on 6 of 9 shooting from the field and 2 of 4 from the three-point line. He also registered 12 rebounds and 11 assists in the game.
Travis Scott is excited for LeBron James and Bronny James father-son duo in the NBA
LeBron James and Bronny James became the first father-son duo in NBA history to be signed to the same NBA team. If the Lakers do not send Bronny James to the Summer League, the elder James will write one of the greatest longevity stories in sports history.
The Lakers signed Bronny James at overall No. 55 in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft. Travis Scott took to his social media to acknowledge one of the greatest moments in the NBA history. The “Mamacita” singer posted a picture of LeBron and Bronny in Lakers jerseys on his Instagram story.
"This what's it's bout," Scott wrote.
Travis Scott was one of the main attractions at Bronny James' 18th birthday party. He performed both father and son during the party. Bronny James also danced to Scott's songs at the party.
As for LeBron James, he is in the perfect spot to add another gold to his resume. Team USA will face Victor Wembanyama and France in the gold medal game.
