Troubled star Jonathan Majors is playing controversial 5x time champion Dennis Rodman in an upcoming biopic
Earlier this March, Jonathan Majors was appointed to portray the role of Chicago Bulls legend Dennis Rodman in his upcoming docufilm titled "48 Hours in Vegas". Playing as the controversial Rodman might prove to be challenging since he was a very unique character in the NBA back in the 90s. Majors even admitted that he'd want to meet with the Bulls legend so he could accurately play the part.
Jonathan Majors recently stirred up some controversy, Majors was accused of assault, harassment, and strangulation by his girlfriend on Saturday morning. The actor was arrested on the same day.
There aren't any updates on whether or not Jonathan Majors will still be playing as Rodman in "48 Hours in Vegas". According to TMZ, Majors' representatives stated that the actor did nothing wrong and is working on clearing his name before the production of the film.
Should the creators of upcoming Dennis Rodman film still get Jonathan Majors to play the part?
In the world of media, the more controversial you are, the more you have everybody's attention. While today's culture would've already canceled Majors entirely, getting him to still play the role of Dennis Rodman in the upcoming docufilm might be best for the business.
Back in the 90s, Rodman was an enigmatic player who always found himself getting into trouble in all kinds of instances. He constantly got himself into fights on and off the court. Rodman was also problematic for the Chicago Bulls given his distasteful demeanor. Despite all that, Rodman is still a champion.
Having Jonathan still play Dennis in "48 Hours in Vegas" might be fitting considering how the actor had a firsthand experience of what it's like living in the mischievous world of the NBA legend. Plus, with a criminal record in Majors' book, it will cause a lot of buzz on social media and in Hollywood.
