"Trump is just so STUPID STUPID STUPID": Bill Russell's daughter hits out at Donald Trump for bizarre statement during Charlotte rally
Former President Donald Trump delivered a bizarre statement during his campaign rally in Charlotte, North Carolina. Trump said that he contemplates firing military officials and replacing them with the best NASCAR drivers in the country.
This strange statement has caught the attention of many, including NBA legend Bill Russell’s daughter, Karen Russell, who expressed her thoughts in no uncertain terms on X:
“Trump is just so STUPID STUPID STUPID,” Russell posted.
Russell’s post also included a meme stating that she would vote for Kamala Harris, who is expected to run for the presidency in place of current president Joe Biden.
Trump was facing a motorsports-loving crowd in Charlotte when he suggested the top NASCAR driver in the country would have the same skills as military generals. He also said that football coaches could do the same. The former president emphasized that this could be the status quo if he gets elected:
"We appreciate talent, I say, 'Let me use these guys to guide our military a little bit.' When you can win so many races, that's okay, you guide," Trump said. "Same thing with coaches, you take some of the greatest football coaches and put them in a room... it's not so different."
Donald Trump refers to Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo in North Carolina
In the same campaign rally in North Carolina, Donald Trump discussed the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, where the Bucks play home games. After complimenting the arena and the city, Trump then mentioned Giannis Antetokounmpo, but not through his name, instead, calling him “the Greek.”
"Milwaukee was great," Trump said. "They did a great job. The stadium is new. They built it for the basketball team, which is excellent. You know 'The Greek,' right? 'The Greek.'"
Giannis has made a name for himself in Milwaukee, bringing the city the NBA championship in 2021. The Bucks star also won two regular season MVPs, and a Defensive Player of the Year award with the team.
Donald Trump’s statements came a day after Greece announced that Giannis will be carrying their flag in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Giannis led Greece to their first Olympic men’s basketball appearance since 2008. This will also be Giannis’ first taste of Olympic basketball, and his nation is grouped with Australia, Spain, and Canada, in what is considered to be the group of death.
