"Two biggest draws in sports right now" - Skip Bayless compares Bronny James to Caitlin Clark despite chastening Summer League

Skip Bayless may be leaving Fox Sports soon, but he's not going out without a bang. Bayless compared Bronny James with Caitlin Clark in terms of popularity. James has been an attraction during the Las Vegas Summer League despite his struggles on the court.

In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, the eccentric sports analyst claimed that James and Clark are the two biggest attractions in sports right now. Clark has been filling out arenas in the WNBA, while Bronny is doing the same thing in Las Vegas.

"Caitlin Clark and Bronny James: the two biggest draws in sports right now," Bayless wrote.

Skip Bayless might be right if he wrote "American sports," as there are so many international athletes who could outdraw Clark and James. Kylian Mbappe recently attracted roughly 85,000 fans during his introductory presentation for Real Madrid.

Nevertheless, Clark's drawing power for the WNBA has been proven, same with Bronny although it would be difficult to see it during the NBA season.

In just the 26th game of her WNBA career, Caitlin Clark broke the record for most assists in a game. Clark dished out 19 assists in the Indiana Fever's disappointing 101-93 loss to the Dallas Wings on Wednesday night in Arlington, Texas.

However, Clark made history after breaking Courtney Vandersloot's record of 18 assists in 2020. It has been an amazing rookie campaign for the Iowa product despite the hiccups from earlier this season. She has adjusted her game although her turnovers are still a problem.

And as pointed out by Skip Bayless above, Clark is certainly a huge draw for the WNBA, and her record-breaking performance is one of the reasons why. Now, she and the rest of the league will take a break to watch Team USA go for gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

While Caitlin Clark broke records on Wednesday, Bronny James had his best game of the Summer League that same night. He finished with 12 points, one rebound and one steal in the LA Lakers' 87-86 win over the Atlanta Hawks. He went 5-for-11 from the field and finally made his first 3-point shot.

It has been a struggle for LeBron James' eldest son during his time in the Summer League. There was plenty of pressure on him, as well as a ton of coverage that might have folded other 19-year-old kids.

Nevertheless, Bronny pushed through on Wednesday and finally had his first good game of the Summer League. It should give him some confidence heading into his fourth game in Las Vegas.
