Tyler Hansbrough on Zach Edey probable to win NPOY & Most Improved Player: “He actually has soft hands”

Purdue Boilermakers big man Zach Edey continues to be a dominant force in college basketball. After an impressive sophomore season, Edey has seen his game reach new heights as a junior.

The 7-foot-4 big man has been a force for the top-ranked team in the country this season. Heading into the weekend, Edey is averaging 22.0 points, 13.0 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game. He's also shooting an impressive 61.7% from the field and 73.2% from the free-throw line.

Purdue (22-1, 11-1 Big Ten) has been one of the country's most dominant teams and is looking like a potential national championship contender. Much of that is thanks to the ability of their talented junior center.

On "The Field of 68" podcast, former college basketball and NBA forward Tyler Hansbrough praised Edey. Hansbrough said that Edey could be national player of the year and most improved player at the same time.

"Edey could be the most improved player as well in college ... He actually has soft hands," Hansbrough.
Could Zach Edey win NPOY, Most Improved Player, AND Big Ten POY??

The Purdue Boilermakers have been the country's No. 1-ranked team for weeks. The team has been tested a number of times, and the Boilermakers continue to show they have what it takes to win in crunch time.

When Purdue has needed someone to step up, Zach Edey has risen to the occasion. Purdue has always been a tough team for opponents to handle. With Edey taking another step forward in his development, the Boilermakers could be a legit contender.

After a 65-64 loss to Rutgers on Jan. 3, Purdue has rattled off nine straight victories. The Boilermakers' next test will be a big one, as they are set to take on Indiana (15-7, 6-5) and talented senior Trayce Jackson-Davis on Saturday.

If Edey can continue to produce at this level, he's going to be a clear favorite for the National Player of the Year.
